Who: All Club Hypoxia members worldwide (or anyone who likes bicycles)**

When: Friday, Aug. 27 thru Monday, Aug. 30

Where: Grand Junction, Colorado

Why: Awesome bike rides, friendship, fresh peaches (the peach festival takes place the weekend before), beer, fun. Do I really need to spell it all out for you?

What: SageBum, Pansy and Howard are nearly done with the planning decisions for the Grand Junction ReUnion. Check back frequently as we will post more here as more is discovered.

Ride Itinerary:

  • Friday, Aug. 27th - Starting at 2 p.m., we'll all ride the river bike trail system through Grand Junction - a nice relaxing start to a great weekend! The total out-and-back is about 18 miles.

  • Saturday, Aug. 28th - So that everyone can join in, we'll ride 38 epic miles through Colorado National Monument starting near the entrance to cut down on distance. Remember to bring headlights and taillights, which are required when riding through the tunnel! Yes, there's a tunnel. There may be other options for additional miles, which SageBum is exploring.

  • Sunday, Aug. 29th - We'll drive in the early morning to the "official start" of the Grand Mesa ride at I-70 and Hwy 65. We'll ride together for a (somewhat) flat 10 miles, and then split up into Imperial Century and Metric Century groups. Pansy will drive SAG for us that day. The Imperial Century group can ride up and over the summit and down the other side to Cedaredge to get the first 50 miles. The Metric Century group can ride to the summit. Hopefully, we can all meet at the summit and descend (somewhat) together back to the town of Mesa, then back to the start.

  • Monday, Aug. 30th - We'll ride 38 miles in the morning along a well-established bike route to and through Palisade and its peach orchards, along the river, and back along bike trails and good roads. Then we're ALL done.

Lodging:

  • Camping: The Pansys and Howards are camping at the KOA Campground in SW Grand Junction for $26 a night, though there are plenty of other options that we're compiling for everyone. The KOA Campground has showers, a small pool, and Internet access. There are many other camping options available around town as well.

  • Hotels/Motels: The Doubletree Hotel is one of Grand Junctions' finer and less expensive hotel options, and their free breakfasts can't be beat. We'll be posting additional options soon.

So? Who's coming?

**Those who are planning on attending include: Mozam, Howard, BalticTiger, Deadhead, BikePrincess, Pansy, Mr. Pansy, SuperNana, Popeye, Peanut, DataJunkie, wheels-go-round, Taz, Valygrl, RoadBikr, PWNT, and Tawnya.
