I'm Not Dead Yet!

By Howard - Posted on 28 July 2009

As an avid and quite sociable cyclist, I think the end of July is the worst part of the year. Why? Because everyone thinks the schedule of rides is getting thin and TOO MANY OF MY FRIENDS ARE COMPLAINING OF BURNOUT!

People -- it's July!!!! We still have thousands of miles to ride before we sleep (and begin to pack on the poundage.)

Remember way back in February or March when I posted the schedule of rides for this season? Well, here it is again, beginning with August 1st...

Sat., August 1 -- Copper Triangle
Sun., August 2 -- Mt. Shasta (Calif.) Summit Century
Sat., August 8 -- Club Hypoxia Mt. Evans from Denver
Sat., August 8 -- RMCC's Peak-to-Peak 300K Brevet
Sat., August 15 -- Leadville Trail 100
Sat., August 22 -- Colorado's Tour de Cure
Sun., August 30 -- Venus de Miles Road Ride (women only, dudes can volunteer as Mechanics in Drag.)

Sat., Sept. 5 -- New Belgium Brewery's Tour de Fat

Sun., Sept 6 -- Club Hypoxia Cinnamon Roll Century (Glen Haven, Vern's, Schmidt's, and Johnson's Corner)

Sat., Sept. 12 -- Bike With Pike
Sept. 12 - Sept. 14 -- Hoodoo 500

Oct. -- None so far

Sat., Nov. 21 -- el Tour de Tucson
Sun., Nov. 22 -- eTdT Recovery Ride up Mt. Lemmon

Thurs., Dec. 31 -- Club Hypoxia 6th Annual Year-End Send-Off

If anyone wants to invent/include a couple more rides, please post them in comments here or create a new ride in the New Rides thread, and I'll update this schedule as needed.

September and October are two of the very best months of the year to ride your bike in Colorado! Don't give up on this season just yet! WE ALL NEED MORE (S)MILES!
