Moving on, Pt II

Haven't talked to some of  you in quite a while, so here's a summary of what's been going on the last few months.

I've been dating a girl that I met online quite some time ago... we've known each other and been best friends for about 6 years.  In February I flew up to Spokane to visit her, meeting her in person for the first time ever.

Moving On

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

My life has been in the pits for a very long time... so long that I almost can't remember a time when it wasn't.  No more.

Western Slope Riding Invite

We sure enjoyed our visit with Jeff and Nona on their return home from the Shasta Summit event.  Looks like we will be in Grand Junction and surrounds for 3-4 weeks from about Sept 21st to mid October or so.

There would be time and space at our home away from home for Hypoxians to come and visit and ride.    If you prefer camping, the campground in the Colorado National Monument is just a few minutes away and beautiful in the fall.

42Below WeLikeBike ride

Had a blast at the 42 Below WeLikeBike ride today, made some new friends.

The Club Hypoxia kit was a hit... several people asked where they could get jerseys!

Oh, and I finally found someone to give that Hypoxiette windbreaker to!  One of the Bike42 riders is going to wear it... they'll be crossing the Rockies over the next few days.  Hopefully it helps!

Why oh why? A TBP ride recap

Last week I came up with the brilliant idea of making the triple more epic. It seemed way too easy after riding with the crew on brook forest bravo. Thus, I decided to ride from Thornton to Evergreen and as a result add 40+miles to the triple.

I started my ride promplty at 2:30 am and proceeded to tip over on the transition between my driveway and the street. I blame a lack of sleep for my issue. The end result was a bit of road rash on my left leg. Since I left my door key inside my house I decided to take off.

RMCC 1-2-3 Challenge - 300k

Saturday, May 23, was the third and final leg of the RMCC 1-2-3 challenge series – the 300k race from Littleton to Elbert and back.  I’ve got to say it’s one of the toughest rides I’ve ever done at 187 miles with 10,000 feet of climbing.  It reminded me a lot of the Hypoxia Tour of Parker, except that it has twice the climbing, and it’s over twice as long.  So to put it in perspective, imaging finishing the Tour of Parker, then turning around and riding it again!&nbs

RMCC 1-2-3 Challenge - 200k

The 200k leg of the RMCC 1-2-3 challenge is finally in the books!  The ride was supposed to happen on May 2, but the forecast called for chilly temps and rain all day so it was pushed to Sunday the 10th, and again chilly temps with rain and wind forced another postponement at the starting line.  Finally May 16 proved that the third time’s a charm, and in spite of some overnight rain and cloudy skies at the start the ride went off.

What Was Hard To Do Is Sweet To Remember - Part VI

Panguitch – Cedar City

The climbing began abruptly right at the south edge of Panguitch, no time to warm up, just right into an 8% grade.  There had been a four-person team parked at the time station in Panguitch and they caught up and passed me early in the climb.  At least the sunshine and the climbing were helping warm me up after the chilly riding of the last few hours, and it wasn’t long before the van passed, giving me a couple honks of the horn to let me know we’d make an exchange soon.

May is Here! An Overview...

Considering all the freak snowstorms and windy days we received, April was a success for Club Hypoxia! The two big rides -- GlassCat's South Side Social Ride and my own Stove Prairie Trainer -- were great fun, if not a bit chilly. Plus, the Wednesday Time Trials have impressed with their ability to improve a rider's speed and stamina so effectively.

What Was Hard To Do Is Sweet To Remember - Part V

Loa – Panguitch

We caught up with Howard a couple miles outside of Loa at the base of another climb, made an exchange, and I took off.  I guess I was hoping to get the climb over with on one pull but it was a longer climb than that.  It was actually about 10 miles of climbing and Howard was riding when we finally reached the top and started the descent.  The cue sheet warned of a turn in the middle of this descent that we didn’t want to miss, so we went ahead to find the t
